Prologue II: Hellgear City - Page 3 Empty

The previously mentioned man wearing a jacket was already on the DVB situation. He slipped out of the subway, just avoiding getting stuck on board. If one watched him, you'd see that he followed the 'shaman' and his blown up stuffed bear.

Samuel walked over to a floating chair and plopped down, stretching his legs out. "Worry about that kid? Pff. I'm not sticking around to watch his stuffed bear thing get a fix up. 'Sides, that guy with the weird hat's off following him." Samuel's eyes trailed downward, at the eaten corpse on the floor. Samuel felt his stomach quiver in him at the very sight of the thing and slowly inched his foot down toward the carcass. With all that strength, he lifted the corpse up with his foot n' tossed it out the already broken window. JesusfuckinGoddamn. That was gross.

Guy in the funny hat looked sorta familiar, actually. Like something Samuel may have seen in a... Book or something somewhere... Naw. That's crazy. Cant even remember a year ago, how could he remember some dude in a book he saw? Weird.

Immediately after they left, the train doors slammed shut. It was thud that told that the fact those two even had the chance to leave was a fluke. This point was proved once more by a squad of strangely armored guards bursting through the door that lead to the cars going toward the engine room. (People just love bursting through that door, eh?) The armor they wore was dull burgundy in color, and each plate ended in a point. A faceless mask cover their heads. Definitely armor built with intimation in mind regardless if it worked or not.

"Stand down. Weapons on the ground and hands where they can be seen." One of the armored men said, "you are to be taken in for questioning on the robbery. Come willingly or come arrested." Oh, and while they were focusing on you guys, the surviving bandits sneaked away; even if they were on the border of being victims, they still were guitly.

God damn it today is really sucking for you guys.

"Well shit. That's not much... of an... uh... an option, now is it." Zed said idly, though he didn't have any weapons on him, really. Just a wrench, and that didn't make for a very good weapon most of the time. Regardless, he decided to grab his luggage, put it on the ground, and well.

He didn't really know where to go from where he was at.

He decided to shrug and go along with the cop dudes, even if they totally sounded like assholes. He'd stop if they suddenly started acting like assholes, though, that was simple enough. He didn't know what the other folks he was travelling with would figure it best not to make a real big fuss about this whole thing and go along with the assholes.

Zed wouldn't chalk it up to "likely". In fact, it was about as likely as...

His thought was suddenly interrupted rudely by the sudden feeling of his brain getting tazed.

... Right, pills. Forgot.

Oh, Samuel got lucky that time. The only weapons he had on him were his FISTS, and those dont come off too easily. Samuel wasnt going to part with those too quickly mind you, so he may have disobeyed the ever so kindly officers request. In a way, he was showing the officer the very threatening weapons he was supposed to drop! Hands out infront of him, Samuel stood up and rolled his eyes. "Hey, uh... Mark, right? Think we can take them?" He asked in a semi-joking manner. Even if those police coppers shot him or hit him or anything, it wouldnt hurt all that much. Power of God and all of that. Look, it even gets its own capitalized letters! Samuel secretly wondered if the elf woman and the dwarf were going to be taken into questioning too. I mean, they were there and all. Could be considered witnesses.

Mark looked at the men in their funky armor, and shook his head. "Nah," he said, "let's just go 'long with'em." The fact that they gave the option to come willingly sounded promising, had to humor them if they gave you the benefit of the doubt for being the only one's left in the car that had all the fighting. "One thing," prompted Mark to the guards, "I'm not dropping my weapon." Mark slung his rifle onto his back, like a hardcore monster hunter mothah fuckah. Mift flew into his hat.

"Well, that does it for you guys. Thanks for riding!" The ticket dwarf begun to walk back to his position by the sliding door, but one of the armored men walked in front of him. "That was an order to the lot of you. Fall back into line." The dwarf's jaw dropped, he was clearly not liking this. Another armored man pointed to the elf, "yes, you to," he said, pointing at her with a baton that was most certainly a magic disruptor. All in all, people were not happy.

"That case, refuse to give up my weapon too," answered the dwarf to the armored man, "me and this club have seen a lot, not parting with it." Mark rolled his eyes.

The man with the over all spikyist armor pointed to the door they had busted through. "Fine. First sign of resistance, and you fall," he said without quiver, "now follow." He turned and exited, the armored ones behind each person game a small shove to get them going.

They walked through the rest of the cars, plenty of scared looking people were cowering in their seats. They were mostly human, though there were a few dwarfs, very few elves, and the occasional halfling*. The fear wasn't just to these armored lawmen, however, some members of the group were scary in their own right.** When they exited the door on the first car, there was a horseless carriage with a holding cell in the back, the group was escorted into it.

The armored men closed and locked the door, and got to their front side to drive off. As the carriage began to move, without so much as a whinny nor engine sound, Mark cursed.

"Not so happy about this turn of events, eh?" Mift commented, exiting his hat. Mark shook his head.

"No, I left the Manticore bits back in the car, could have made some money on the pelt, at least."

*The halfing is, to their namesake, half as tall as a human. Being short and having curiously pointed ears and body shape, they are often said to be signs that once, long ago in forgotten times, dwarfs and elves didn't hate each other as much as they do now. Bringing this up to an elf or dwarf is genially not a good idea, however.
** All of them besides the elf and dwarf.

Zed was pretty much trippin' balls right now. He sat still and stared out the window, mind now lost entirely in the realm of time and space, as it often does when he takes those pills. They have very funny effects on his head, you know. So he was just sitting there, mostly black eyes now entirely blackened, hands occasionally swirling around mystically, mumbling some fucking crazy mystic shit I guess. It only sounded mystic because of the way he said it, and also because he was high as fuck and wasn't really altogether coherent.

In fact, he was really just talking to himself about what he was looking at and thought at the moment, but in an odd, ass-backwards, and kind of slow way.

Go on, give 'em a nudge.

Samuel considered doing a little jig as he followed them police soldiers. Fuck tha police. He could lift this train above his head if he wanted to. He scratched his nose and sorta gazed at the police. "I wouldnt touch that guy, were I you." He said, pointing at Zed. "He doesnt look well in the head, yknow?" Eh, least Samuel could do is help a fellow out of jail time. Samuel cracked his neck impatiently. Least these guys could do is give him a whack in the head, see if he could remember anything, but NOOOO these have to be the tolerant policeguys. Samuel looked at Mark and made a face. Dis is booshit, BOOSHIT I SAY.
