"Looks like there is something the brainwashing did, I'll have to check that later," DVB said as he began opening his backpack. "Want a sandwich?" he asked.

"Yes," Mace said as he swiped one from DVB.

"Awfully rude, aren't we, Mace?" he said as he gave one to Cisume and got one for himself. "So tell us more about the Xeuz," he said before taking a bite.

Cisume stared vacantly at her sandwich. She was confused and unsure of herself. She had just help kill her allies, or were they her enemies now? They were Zaft's allies, so did that make them her's? It was too much.

Zaft slowly faded into consciousness. What had happened? Where was he? Why did his wing hurt? Oh, his wing! A searing pain shot through his body and he screamed in pain. He clutched his shatered wing, but that only made it worse. What had happened? Where was he? Why did his wing hurt? In his poor condition he couldn't sort out these thoughts, he could just lay there, lay there in pain.

Cisume jumped when she heard Zaft's scream, she hadn't expected him to wake up so soon. She dropped her untouched sandwich and raced to his side, "What happened? What do we do? Hurry!" she said frantically. It hurt her to see him in so much pain.

"Crud, I thought he'd awaken hours later," DVB said before walking over him. His hand had a smal lavender glow as he pressed the hand on Zaft's forehand. He grunted and fell back unconscious. "Don't worry, he just unconscious again, hopefully he'll awake in a few hours," he said as he began taking out the first aid kit. "While I try to fix your friend, tell us more about the Xeuz," he said as he began examining Zaft's bad wing.

Mace grabbed Cisume's sandwich off the ground and started eating it.

Cisume sat back, somewhat relieved. She was shaking and close to hysteria. She couldn't form anymore words.

"Take some deep breathes, now Cisume," DVB said while facepalming with Mace eating the sandwich on the ground.

((I was looking forward to being sadist...))

Zaft twitched in his comma.

"This won't hurt much," DVB said before wrapping Zaft into a mummy of bandages. "This will allow him to be more comfy and try not to escape, Cisume can you help me with his wings?" he asked while continuing to wrap him.

Cisume jumped to her feet, "What are you doing? It was only his wing that was hurt! He won't be able to move in all that."

"This is only just in case, Cisume. This is to make sure he doesn't hurt us, that includes you," DVB said, as he stopped wrapping.

"He would never hurt me!" Cisume said, stomping her foot on the ground, "Why do you act like he's some evil monster? Get away from him now!" she said running over and pushing DVB away.

"Fine, untie him, just remember, any blood that gets spilled by him before we get there lies on your hands as well," He said as he sliced the banadages and started wrapping the wing. "I'm just worried for yours, Jim's and even Mace's safety," he said.

"I've got guns, I'm ok," Mace said, "if he attacked I could tranquilize his ass."

"There, his wings are wrapped, though once we get into town, we'll fix him up, better, let's go," he said giving Zaft to Cisume. "Just remember what I said," he siad before picking up Jim and continued walking.

Cisume nodded obediently, embarrassed at her sudden outburst. These people were helping her, she should be more trusting of them, but she still felt kind of uneasy around them.

"Do you know anymore of the Xeuz?" DVB asked Cisume while they were getting close to the town.

"Nah, I tried to steer clear of them as much as I could. They are not very nice to humans, and also they look weird." Cisume said. Now that she had rested she would be ok carrying Zaft for a while.

"So the only good source of info would be your friend. Anyway, why did he join? Was he forced to or was he lured by the power?" DVB asked trying to avoid offending her.

"..." Cisume ignored the question and kept on walking, "Are we there yet?" she asked flatly.

"Nearly. By the flat tone and the silence, he joined for power didn't he?" DVB said stopping suddenly.

Cisume narrowed her eyes and kept walking, "I don't know. He never told me."

"Cisume, I'm not stupid. Tell the truth," DVB said looking at her with a glare.

"I just did." Cisume said. She waited a bit and then commented, "Have you ever been slapped before?"
