Prologue I: The Fields of Genesis Empty
PostSubject: Prologue I: The Fields of Genesis   Prologue I: The Fields of Genesis I_icon_minitimeSat Jun 19, 2010 9:57 pm

They say the first people of this continent came from here. There were fields of lush green grass of varying heights. Occasional trees can be seen for the weary to lie under. There are a few ponds and the range is open to see the sky. The two headliners are first the dark, and glowing city in the nearby distance and the cliff descending into a small beach leading to the sea. Oh yeah... there is background music in this world. It id admittedly shocking and a bit unnerving at first, but you get used to it, especially since it helps define the scenery. In these fields, a soothing and yet mystical theme echoes in a subtle yet noticeably volume. Such as the legends of heroes coming from the fields, it is ironic I suppose, most newbies start here, including me...

DVB was lying under a tree as he was reflecting the thoughts of all that occurred in this world. He was resting. He was now an official shaman, though he work to do ahead. He liked here, nowhere near as mundane as Earth, then again, we all feel that our home may be mundane at one point...

"Heya!"
In the distance was a girl, waving.
She approached Diego with a friendly smile, but stopping at a slight distance from him.
"Could you help me with something?"

Out of character: would she know about shamans? Apart from what she might have seen in movies on Earth.

OOC: Yes, she most likely would. People who have been here at least a month know what's going on. Also, there very few Earthlings on here, so when they find out, it should be a shocker. Few people heard of Earth from them, but think of it as simply a story
.
"Oh sure, Miss I..." Diego began saying before something caught him off his guard. As a shaman, he is in tune with nature. He has a different energy signature because of his heritage from Earth, something his master said. So why does she have the same unless... "Excuse me, but are you from Earth?" he asks.

PostSubject: Re: Prologue I: The Fields of Genesis   Prologue I: The Fields of Genesis I_icon_minitimeSun Jun 27, 2010 7:11 pm

That last bit might have been hard to hear, seeing as at that moment a monster's roar of rage blasted against the peaceful fields.

From the horizon ran a monster. It had the body of beefy lion, a head almost shaped like a mans with a mouth full of sharp teeth, and a tail like a scorpion's. The most most notable feature of it was the dragon wings. More shocking of all, though, that it was running away from a man.

He was dressed quite like a confederate soldier, even had the hat and beard. He was shooting at the beast with his rifle, shots ringing as they made their journey from the barrel. Each shot that hit caused the monster to flinch in it's run, and as they were only yards away from the other two, stopped and roared at the man. It was going to fight this out.

The man quickly ducked as the monster attempted to pounce on him, and spear it in the stomach with the bayonet on his rifle. When the monster landed it cried out in pain. It was bleeding all over, from the fresh wound to several small spots on the back. It charged, in a swift movement the man dropped his rifle and pulled out his saber, just managing to block the creature tail. He wasn't ready for it to swipe at him with it's paw however, and he landed on the ground from the strike to the legs. On the ground, the man looked up at the monster standing right above him, it made a move to bite a chunk of the man.

"No you don't!"

The voice came from behind the beast and was accompanied with a jolt of electricity to the creature's rear. In reaction to spun around to face the aggressor, but it had already flown away. With the creature's back to him the man got to his feet and sliced the monster's tail off with haste. It screamed in bloody pain and almost fell over as it tried to turn back around. This gave the man enough time to jump on it's back, and make the back of the monster's head a sheath. After holding for dear life for a disturbing five seconds of life, the wound over took it, the monster died.

The man got up and admired his kill, it was a hard one. A small figure the size of a hand floated down and sat of the man's shoulder.

"Don't see many manticores," the fairy said.

"Kidding me? First one I've seen, and I swear by that." the man responded.

"You alright?" Diego said as he was surprised by the whole ordeal. "Also, there aren't manticores found near here. They are more mountainous creatures; so this one may have been lost," he said as he looked at it. "I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Diego and I am a shaman," he said.

The fairy gave Diego a funny look.

"Mountains? Manticores live in the dese-" the man waved his hand to tell the fairy to be quiet, with she did with a roll of the eyes.

"The name's Mark," the man said to Diego, "and this fairy-"

"Pixie,"

"Pixie is Mift-"

"and I can introduce myself just fine, thank you very much," Mift interrupted a second time, "so, a shaman, huh? Don't look like one, nope." Mark went and picked up his rifle from the ground and sheathed his saber.

"Come on now, don't need to get all pissy," Mark said to Mift.

"What's he gonna do? Sick an animal's spirit at me? I don't see any here that'd be a," she stopped as Mark pointed to the dead manticore, and shrunk to the size of a thumb to fly into Mark's hat.

"So, there a town around here?" Mark asked as he put the rifle on by it's strap, "I'm damn sure this thing get a good price at the market."

Now Diego was a kind person. However, he was also a short-fuse and had pride in his profession. However, upon noticing the natural energy signature, he decided to ask him a question, after clearing something up with the pixie. "First of all, pixie, I believe you are mistaking the Druids for conjuring up the animal spirits and the wild energy. As a shaman, I rely on nature and the elements for my power." he said before taking out of his backpack a mace. It was about two and a half feet long and had a long black handle. At the end, was a translucent rectangular prism with a white light inside, the prism being black on the top and bottom.

"The closest town is the... infernal Hellgear City. However, night is coming soon and it is better going there in the morning," Diego said before asking both of them, "Are you from the world known as Earth?"

Mark scratched the side of his face.

"Uhh, I think you have it wrong, Mift was right on that point," Mark said, "I mean, shamans do deal with plants or animals depending on which spirits they follow, but you seem to have druids far off, really. I actually saved a women from being sacrificed by a bunch of druids, it was for the moon or something." Mark wasn't going to be mean like Mift, but the guy did look nothing like a shaman. He was wearing a jacket, of all things.

Oh, that last part was ignored. Why? Because you completely skipped another important point, that doesn't happen in real life conversations, so it won't here.

Kye walked across the field looking at the ground, using the scythe as a walking stick, though it was nearly taler then he. Vir walked along side him with its sickles in hand, the skeletal teenagers arms swayed back and fourth as it walked. He walked past the three people and contiuned on. Vir looked at them in awe as they walked past, much like a child would, while Kye contiuned to look at the ground.

Samuel was sitting in a tree silently and somewhat uncomfortably, branch under him and another at his back, just listening to the conversation below. Something about explaining the meaning behind shamans or druids or something along those lines. He'd been mildly entertained by that battle from before but now that it had ended, there was nothing left for him to look over. Samuel leaned back in the tree and tried for what seemed like the hundredth time in the past week to just REMEMBER.

He just drew a blank.

He slammed a fist into the tree, a resounding crack echoing through the plains. Looking at the mighty hole he'd made in the tree and back at his fist, he remembered. Gotta keep that super-strength in mind. Super-strength. What a name. Hopefully the people below were the kind that ignored loud, strange cracking noises from above. He wasnt really in a big talking mood.

"Listen Mark, I'm pretty sure I know my profession very well as well as the profession of the Druids. How long have you been here?" Diego said as he straighten his back. He wasn't going to let someone doubt his profession. He however calmed himself down as he looked at Kye walking by, having the same energy signature. "You're from Earth, aren't you?" Diego said quietly enough for only the two of them hear.

Eve looked up, and closed the notebook she had been scribbling in. "What was hitting that tree that all about?"
She turns to Diego "I'm sorry, I'm still new here, and I have a habit of making notes of everything. But to answer your question; yes, I am from Earth. I came here..." (looking at her notebook) "83 days ago. I'm still a little fuzzy about the details; all I know was that when I woke up that day, I wasn't on my campsite anymore."
She pauses. "Are you from Earth too?"

Samuel just stuck to being silent and in his tree. What was an Earth? Some kind of building with big windows and small doors or something? Samuel knew nothing of it so he didnt answer DVB. He resorted to cracking his fingers to entertain himself. Loudly.

At the mention of Earth a small twitch appeared on Mark's face. And he was going to comment, too, but Samuel's knuckle cracking pretty much stopped him right as he opened his mouth. He kinda glanced at the strong guy for a sec before coughing in his gloved hand.

"At any rate, me and Mift have been here about a week, was kinda surprising waking up in a new world."

What bull shit, hard to be surprised twice by the same thing.

Samuel dropped down from the tree and landed next to DVB to glare at the rest of the group. "Nosy one, arent you?" He said in a bitter tone. Probably wasnt the best way to start off an introduction, but he wasnt in the mood for it. He figured that if he stuck with a group of some sort, he could find decent shelter. And possibly his memories but that was a long shot. Who knows. Maybe this guy was his brother. That'd be quite a coincidence, wouldnt it?

Kye stopped in his tracks at the mention of earth... "Earth?....Earth is dead to me..." he said with a slight Yugoslavian accent. He turned and looked at the man who asked. Kye then, using dark magic, made his scythe disapper for now. "What business of you is it where i am from."Kye spoke fractured english. Vir snickered, jaw rattling as he did so.

OOC: Forgot to mention Kye is from current day Yugoslavia.

Not too many places else to be around here, huh. So I guess I'll just introduce this guy normally. 'Kay, so dude was walking along with this small black suitcase, right? Had these funky goggles over his eyes and a bomber jacket on, as well as some jeans that he put some kneepads in, coupled with metal shoes. Dude looked kinda funky to start with, but man. Didn't stop there. Dude had brown hair, right? Yeah, well he had these bangs parted in the front that were just straight white. Last piece of odd were these metal gauntlets that he had, and those things had claws on 'em. Dude looked about ready to flap his arms and fly off.

He didn't, though. He was just walkin' along, bored. Dum dum de dum, stranger passing a group.

Diego was simply waiting for an answer. He noticed the strange man pass them by. "Excuse me, are you also from Earth?" Diego asked as he continued to wait for everyone to answer him. If they were from Earth, was it fate or destiny that brought them together? Or was it that hobo? Diego simply sighed as he observed his surroundings once more. It was simply a collection of hillsides in a field.

And yet, there is something nostalgic or rustic about the patches of gold-colored wheat sticking out through the lush sea of green grasses; average size trees stood there like lone islands providing the luxury of shade. This seemingly endless fields had its ends. Facing east was the largest hill, leading to a cliff to look over the seemingly eternal sea. The north had some mountains in the far-off distance, barely visible. More field could be seen in the south, though the faintest outline of a town was hinted. Perhaps the most noticeable was the large dark city in the west. Sticking out like a sore thumb, the buildings were tall enough to see the Victorian style of the mechanical dystopia. The atmosphere and the color of the sky was also darker, though by a mere tint or two. However, even then, the city was a true urban jungle, the closest oasis of civilization.

Mark sat down, this kid was asking left and right about people from earth, so he'd just let the boy get it out of his system. Mift peeked out of Mark's hat and fluttered down onto his knee.

"What's he getting on about earth?" Mift asked Mark, "isn't it that place you told me about? The land with no magic and boring creatures?"

"Mhmm," Mark answered, "haven't even heard the word spoken in some time."

"Well," Mift said, "sounds like all these guys are from there, isn't that interesting?"

"Mhmm."

Samuel lifted an eyebrow at DVB. "Does it even matter where they're all from?" He asked the guy. "All that matters now is that we're here." To be honest, he did care about the past, and everything that went on in it. Hell, he was trying to find out about his past for a reason. Samuel just didnt want to listen to this kid ask everyone if they were from this 'earth' place every five minutes.

He didn't mind leaving Earth, it was a little dull. However, since some people were quiet, he decided for them to say something.
