As you read the book you learn the ins and outs of controlling the natural mana inside your body. It also tells you how to alter that flow to preform magic, get the most from potions you drink, and how any one still using magick should seriously consider upgrading. After that's all said and done the book has taught you four basic spells, neat!

DVB has learned four spells!
Magic Lighter
Mana Bullet
Quick Scab
Stage Illusions.

The book disappears in a puff of ash and smoke, what the heck?

(To keep track of this info please make a post in the ''Inventory and Self Info.'' topic.)

The other two notice a scroll of paper with their respective weapons, Yippee, learning!

I wasn't too thrilled about cleaning the rooms, I mean, I didn't even clean my own room back on earth. But still, it was better than fishing with sticks. After I heard the innkeeper mention war, my spirits dropped. I was never a big fan of war. They didn't say much about it, and what they did say I didn't understand. Master of ceremonies? Sounded like some kind of leader. Puzzup? Maybe it was on that map somewhere, I'd have to check later.

I walked solemnly into the room, still wondering about the war thing. The room was nice, but it didn't look like the innkeeper had gone out of his way to get them good rooms. I pulled up a chair, and noticed a piece of paper that had apparently come with my bow. I unrolled it and started reading. It had some basic steps, diagrams, and descriptions, but my mind wasn't really into it, so I doubted I'd remember much later. I sighed. What was going to happen to me here? A new world, fishing, crossbows, war. I wasn't exactly prepared for all this to be thrust upon me.

"Something the matter Rita?" DVB asked, the only light aside the moonlight was a small flame on his finger.

I ran into the room where DVB and Rita were. I was carrying my hammer. I stopped running, and in place I started hopping around in between where Rita and DVB stood. "Guys, look this badass hammer! Isn't it so badass?"

"Nice," DVB just said before asking, "What do you think about the war?" he asked.

I nodded side to side at DVB's comment, indicating that I was fine. I was a bit surprised when Chris ran into the room waving around his 'badass' hammer. I smiled and laughed to myself; at least my stay here wouldn't be boring. I set down my own weapon, and stared off into space. I figured DVB was talking to Chris, and I didn't really have much to add anyway. I had just heard about it a few minutes ago, hardly enough time to form an opinion.

"A penny for your thoughts, Rita?" DVB said as he managed to get two of his fingers lit up with the spell.

Something I just realized: When people say, 'a penny for your thoughts.', does that mean they actually think your opinion is only worth a cent? Eh, never mind. Just another one of my worthless thoughts. "Just thinking about... stuff." I said rather descriptively. "What do you think? About this place." I asked DVB and Chris.

(Bah, time skip)

Just as the sun rises the Inn Keeper wakes you up and hands the lot of you cleaning supplies.

By noon you slump over the lobby couch a bit weary from your work. The Inn Keeper hands your group 25 Gald. "Since it seems you guys will be travailing I thought it would be for the best to pay ya in Gald." After talking the Inn Keeper throws down a newspaper on the coffee table and walks off.

Gain 25 Gald

"Anyway, while we relax, we might as well plan where we go, I say to this mainland here," I said pointing at North Korm. "This map is faded and the names are hard to read," I added.

I slouched down in a chair after finishing our work. It was almost as bad, if not worse, than the fishing. Cleaning was just not my thing. I smiled at the Innkeeper when he paid us, at least we had something to show for our work now. I wonder how much a boat ticket would cost? I noticed the newspaper on the table, and thought it best to try and make some sense of this land. I glanced at the cover, and skipped somewhere to the middle before starting to read.

Trade Post Times

The War Continues!

Heavy conflict is still going on with the Confederacy of Puzzup and the Democratic Republic of Fung, and Anisklu Nation. Just recently the three countries have made a large push into Porish and chances are high that they just might fall to the Superpower.
Within Puzzup this mass war is called the ''Colony Reclaiming Plan''; under this ideology what they're doing is taking back the colonies that declared independence a long time ago. As any child who has history knows, Puzzup was once four different, independent countries. Hamis, Langd, Avuy, YuVa, and Nail. It was these old countries that were the ones that went and conquered. To this day only one colony remains under the rule of Puzzup, Posistan, and even now they are fighting a war there to try and gain their own rule.
With this plan of theirs attention is turned to one of the most successful countries that was a former colony, Shinea. The Prime Minister has recently declared a Defensive Order to send in troops to help aid Porish, but made it clear about having no intention on declaring war on Puzzup.
“It would be very unwise to just come and wish full on battle with those three allied countries”, the Prime Minister said, “we want to help defend those being attacked, not to fight in a full fledged war.”

The Cyclops Beat the Trollgers!

The end of the MegaGoal was filled with emotion, some roaring and cheering, some angry and depressed. The last Curta game of this year ended with the underdog Central City Cyclops beating the favored Triggytom Trollgers. The game was held, as always, at the capital of Rasha, Maskcon.
“We're very exited about the win,” Coach Ramdin of the Cyclops beamed with joy, “but this just means we'll need to train even harder to keep this up.”
Those not so happy, however, are the fans of the Trollgers, who have started fights with Cyclops fans in the streets.
“I don't get why their so dang upset,” Coach Billman of the Trollgers says, “since we're just going to kick their faces in next season!”

Wildlife Acting Up.

Okay, so we all know that wild animals are dangerous, but as of now they seem to be uneasy. Locals have reported that their wildlife seems to be a little more aggressive, like they have to be in order to survive. Some witnesses claim to have seen creatures described as “monsters” in curtain parts. Others claim these people are making mountains from molehills, as the term monster can be used on almost anything; an perfect example is how dragons were once labeled as “mythical creatures”. Now a days dragons are simply considered a group that are called “intelligent beasts”, and some of which can use magic.
“What I saw wasn't simply a trollger, or a kraken,” a witness of these supposed monsters claims,”this thing seemed to made out of some sinister power, not native to this world.”
We will investigate this issue some more.

Chris looked at the newspaper, and looked at it thouroughly. "The Newspaper that came to my house always had comics." he said, obviously unsatisfied. "Whatev's."
