I laced my fingers together behind my back, and watched as people passed by. There seemed to be three basic species that lived here. Some like me and DVB, some like Chris, and some that were about the same size as Chris, but differently shaped. It was strange to see how equally everyone was treated, despite their shape or size. If they were back on earth, surely one would dominate over the rest.

I followed DVB and Chris to a small stand where one of the smaller creatures was selling things. The pearl was nice, but I doubted it would pay for everything this guy had, "No thanks." I said to DVB. Besides, the voice from nowhere also told us to get a boat ride, so I figured whatever we had leftover should go to that.

"Okay, anyway, would we have enough for one Big-Ass Hammer, the book and the mp? If not, simply the map," DVB said.

The Gumdrop examined the pearl. "Nope, all that'll get ya is-," he was interrupted by a gruff Blip with a bag flung over his arm.



"You graft'n scammper!" he swore at the Gumdrop in what sounded like a strong Scottish accent mixed with raw poor speech, "get out of dis town before I scrap ye!" The Gumdrop gave a look of annoyance and trotted away like he just lost a gold mine. "Dat guys bin scamp'n folks in der pats, for der pearl ad thos fish I cin git ye all dat dat guy promised."

(He's willing to trade all you got at the beach, pearl included, for a map, big ass hammer, Magic for Dummies, and simple crossbow. The poor speech was worth it you could say.)

DVB smiled. "Thanks for the help, sir. Here's the pearl. Also what's your name?" DVB said as he gave the pearl and recieved the items, giving the crossbow to Rita, the hammer to Chris and keepoing the spellbook and the map.

"Gruffs" he responded as he made the trade, then walked off.

As one of you opens the map, the rest crowd around to look at it. On the top it says "Map of Stuperd World".

After asking around you find out where you are on the map.

You should really find a boatman, but before that you may need to earn some more money. Gossiping about world events might provide good too.

"Okay, we're going to need to find somewhere to sleep," DVB said.

That was... quite an odd turn of events. But in a good sort of way. Stuperd World, that was reassuring. I took the crossbow, handling it rather carefully. I had no idea how to use the thing, and I didn't want to accidentally shoot an innocent bystander. I nodded to DVB, somewhere to sleep would be nice, and waited for him to started leading the way. While we were still standing around, I tried to listen to what some people were talking about. Well... they weren't really people, but you get the idea.

While passing by you here tid-bits of news. Mostly is all mushed up within the crowd but you could here names that match the counties on your map and "conflict".

Finally finding an inn, they manage to get a night in. "Oh by the way, what's the news about the conflict?" he asked the innkeeper.

The Innkeeper (who is a stick) Gave him a black stare, "how will you be paying?"

"We'll pay you before we leave the island, we promise," DVB said.

The Innkeeper thought for a second, "Well you could in the mourning clean all the rooms," he suggested, "I've even give you a little payment."

"Deal by the way, what''s the news about the conflicts we keep hearing about?" DVB said as the group nodded their heads about thier agreement.

"You haven't heard?" the Innkeeper asked baffled, "War is going on, and once again the master of ceremonies is Puzzup." He continued, "That countries military is dang powerful."

(You can use this time to relax, maybe read a book(DVB, magic hint, hint).

DVB didn't say anything, but went into thier room. DVB was reading the spellbook.
