Hey, my names is Jake Relcast but most of my friends call me Pyro on the case that I have this power where I can control...well fire. It happened About a year ago in Manhattan, NY. Some terrorists got the smart idea to drop a bomb on our little island. It was a pretty well designed bomb it completely incinerated an entire 5 city blocks killing anything it made contact with including my parents, Fortunately my brother was in Chicago at the time, I wasn't that lucky. I was with my parents that day but for some reason I survived, Unconscious and naked but alive. some aftermath scavengers found me and quickly but me on medical machines in the nearest non destroyed hospital. When I woke up, a few weeks later, I spazzed out and completely caught aflame burning all of the machines and medical supplies. After i came to my senses i threw on what little clothes the scavengers brought for me and returned to the streets. It was hetic, Chaos...not a cop in sight and people all living on the streets in most cases. As I walked through the streets I could hear faded screams and shouts in the distance. Instinct told me to avoid it. My Heart told me to chase it. When i got to the source of the Screams I saw a single woman about 19, a year younger than me trying to defend her self against a bunch of rapists. I ran up and punched one in the face and kicked another in the groin...just when i thought we were safe a baseball bat cracked over my head. In most cases a person hit with a baseball bat would be knocked unconscious, but i figured out that night that I was far from normal, I turned around and laughed, laughed can you believe it, at the man who hit me with the bat. then i lifted my fist from my side and clenched it, it burst into flames and gave the man a slug to the stomach most likely killing him. I looked at the two I hit eariler...they just ran away. Then I turned to the girl. This is how I met my first friend after the incident....this was how i discovered i wasn't normal, but gifted....

I guess, after a took a few months of mastering my gifts i became the town's "super hero" only i didn't wear tights or a mask. The effects of the explosion not only gave me the ability to control fire but also high agility and pain tolerance. There is no authority on these streets any more, our system has completely disowned Manhattan entirely, I mean sometimes they drop off medical and food supplies...and they keep the resources running but most mobs and gangs have taken control of the resources and try to turn a profit from them. Val, sort for Valierie, Spence, Megan, and my brother Trent are my only friends and assists I have. We have create a base out of a radio station, we use the tech there to keep surveillance on the city as well as receive messages from the outside world. "Hey, Jake...we got a call from below, source says that a gang of thugs are holding hostages in the water plant, think you can check it out" said Val. Oh yea by the way Val is the girl i saved about a year ago. I put my book down and stood up. "Yea I guess...got nothin better to do." I said as i stepped out onto the fire escape. "Hey Jake..." she said "Yea Val?" I responded "....becareful...."she said. I didn't respond but simply jumped of the fire escape one the 10th floor. after i fell for a few floors i put my hands be hind me a shot flames from letting me fly and or hover, pretty cool huh?. After like a 5 minute fly i was at the water plant and already being fired upon. I Landed on a near by roof and start to sprint towards the plant took a few shots then fired back, literally. The thugs didn't apperciate being set a flame and quickliy bailed out on their plan. "Easy as Pie"i said as i melted the lock on the door and freed the hostages. All they did was run....they thought i was a freak...not a hero, I've been saving their pitiful lives for almost a year now and i still get no fucking respect. "Bastards..." I mumbled to myself as i started to walk back to the radio station.

Chapter 3

Jake got back to the radio tower he walked into the main room and was bombarded with a series of questions from his bestfriend Spence. "So Jake what was it like this time, were their alot of bad guys and such.. oh oh did they have rocket launchers cause that'd be so fucking cool bro. What was it Like?" Spence asked "Bro...what are you five, c'mon man you know how its like you've seen me save people plenty of times. No, they did not have rocket launchers." Jake said as he pulled out a cigarette and lt it with his finger. "They didn't even thank me..." Jake said as he sat down and picked up his book. "Jake...C'mon you promised you'll quit." Val said as she walked towards him and sat next to him. "And you know...we don't do this for thanks and gifts...we do this because its right.." Val said to jake as she pulled the Cigarette out of his mouth. Jake looked at her and blew smoke out of the side of his mouth. "Still....they think I'm a monster, I thought i'd be treated like a hero...you know spider-man and such..." Jake said as he put his book down. A few moments later Trenton walked in. "Hey Bro...how's it going" Trent asked "Same as usual Trent, Same as usual" Jake said as he looked at his older brother. "ahh... Come on man we got good news cheer up" Trent said. "...and what is that?" "Oh yea...Jake they outside said they are sending some more supplies for us" Val replied" Could you and spence go pick them up at the heliport down the road." "Yea Val....C'mon spence we got work" Jake Replied "Fucking sweet get to leave this boring fucking place for awhile" Spence quickly said.

Anyway... I liked chapter two :-) You're not bad.

Something I want to point out though (sorry -,-) When dialogue is used in a story, you generally make that into a new paragraph... like so... (sorry if this is annoying -,-)

"Hey there generic hobag number 1!" Exclaimed generic pimpguy number 1.

Generic hobag number 1 looked at generic pimpguy number 1 and said, "Oh hey what's up?"

haha yea i know, i read quite often, i was just lazy and typing fast before i let my brother on the computer.

Haha, alright then :3 I get finicky about that stuff.

I'm surpised you didn't point out any other errors i made. such as the "I then shot flames from(out of my hands) letting me sly or hover" the parentheses is what is missing in the actual story

Well i guess if I look at it now... haha whoops ^^;

Sounds good, much better than anything I could write of a story. I usually get bored and stop after a paragraph or so ^_^'
But you should run a spell check over it and check some of your capitalization.
